Improve your digestion…
YOU NEED TO KNOW…
Have you ever realized that most of us were NEVER taught HOW to eat? Sure, we’ve been told as children to not talk with our mouths full & perhaps we were taught some proper table manners along the way. But were you ever taught what order to eat your foods in? Do you know how many times you need to chew your food before swallowing? Being taught HOW to eat may not be a big part of our Western culture but I’m here to correct that and teach you HOW you can eat this holiday season as a jumpstart to new methods that you can apply EVERY meal, even after the pumpkin pie has been devoured!
EAT + BE MERRY
Don’t worry, you don’t have to say ‘no’ to food that brings you joy this holiday season. Rather, learn how to prepare the body for anything that is yummp (the sugary or starchy foods). In today’s early release of the Qi Chat, I pre-recorded a video where I’m going to teach you all a few simple Neuro-Qi tips that you can apply before and after your holiday feast!
In essence, the use of food in celebrations is a complex interplay of cultural, social, and emotional factors. It not only nourishes the body but also nourishes relationships, traditions, and the human spirit, creating a rich tapestry of experiences that contribute to the richness of our shared existence.
NEURO-QI TIPS
Eat up this holiday season… but first:
Eat in order: Before you jump into the sweets and starches, snag a few nuts or snack on a few veggies before you sample the treats! Eating fibrous foods first creates a ‘netting’ to slow the glucose spikes which will prevent you from wanting more and more sweets! Stop the glucose spike and eat a fibrous snack, a protein or a healthy fat first!
Avoid the stress & start with an ACV drink: if you know that you’ll dig right into the potatoes & pumpkin sweets first, then drink 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 8 oz of water 15 minutes before you being your holiday feasts!
Practice Relaxation Techniques: Don’t eat stressed out. Just chew and enjoy your meal! You can dig in for seconds, it’ll all be there, just take your time!
Get out and walk: after you eat - take time to go for a 10-15 minute walk with the family. Your body needs some movement after a big meal. Worst thing you can do is to sit and digest. Get up and move!
Herbs: Chinese medicine practitioners use an herbal remedy for post-digestion help. Get some Bao He Wan for post meal blues [link]
